Topic: Industrial Noise and Vibration Mitigation
Presenter: Jagannath (Jag) Rajasekaran
This presentation will discuss the noise and vibration related problem in a typical industrial setting and ways to go about mitigating them. It will start by summarizing some of the basic principles of sound and vibration, discuss allowable noise limits for residential and work setting and identify common industrial noise and vibration sources. Finally reviewing potential cost effective mitigation options that is suitable for various different constraints.
Jagannath (Jag) Rajasekaran is the Lead Engineer for Parklane Mechanical Acoustics located in Oakville, ON, Canada and leads the US operations for Parklane’s subsidiary stationed in Naples, Florida.
Previously, Mr. Rajasekaran was a Research Engineer and an Aero-acoustic Engineer with MDS Aero Support Corp., a gas turbine test facility design company, in Ottawa, ON, Canada. He holds B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Silchar, India and M.A.Sc in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada and a certified Project Management Professional .
At Parklane, Mr. Rajasekaran designs and implements various noise mitigation solutions for institutional, commercial and industrial applications. As the lead acoustic engineer he provides assessment to identify core deliverables, risk levels, design requirements and practical feasibility for implementing potential noise mitigation solutions to acoustic consultants and customers alike. He also specializes in designing custom STC rated acoustic panels for wall cladding of industrial equipment enclosures.
